GSLAC publishes four editions of our council newsletter, "The Duffle Bag" every year. It contains news, events, and council information.

Troop 11 was chartered by the Boy Scouts of America in June, 1920 and has operated continuously for over 90 years, the past 40 years under the sponsorship of Congregation Temple Israel. The meetings are every Tuesday evening, 7:30 to 9:00 PM, in the school building of Temple Israel. The membership includes boys of multiple ethnic and religious backgrounds, and the leadership, including committeemen, represents more than 600 years of Scouting experience and includes 12 Eagle Scouts and 4 Silver Beaver recipients.

Boys age 11 - 18 are Scouts in Troop 11; our Venture Crew 2011 provides a variety of co-ed activities for youth' age 14 -18. When warranted, Troop 11 operates a Webelos den for 10 yr. old boys who are members of Cub Packs that do not offer the Webelos program, which is transition from Cub to Scout.

The objective of Scouting is the development of character and citizenship. To accomplish this we employ a variety of activities that are enjoyed by boys. While camping is primary, our Scouts also participate in service projects, community activities and developing many skills such as first aid, conservation, physical development, and leadership, among others. These are organized into a pattern of progression whereby a boy advances from the initial rank, Tenderfoot, up to the honored rank of Eagle Scout.

Scouts in Troop 11 participate in camping activities year around. We are fortunate being one of only a very few Scout Troops to own our facility, Camp Pultman, near Troy, MO. about 50 miles from T.I. Week-end trips to Camp Pultman are conducted at least once a month. Facilities at Camp Pultman include a split-level Scout Lodge with sleeping capacity of 32 campers, another Scout Lodge, scout craft area, rifle range, and nature lodge. All surrounded by acres of woodland. Our summer camping program includes one week in June at S-Bar-F Scout Ranch near Farmington, MO. and one week in July at Camp Joy, near Carlyle, IL. Several times during the year we participate with other troops in camping programs at other locations.

Boys, of scout age, are invited to visit any of our meetings or camping trips. We will be pleased to answer any questions and provide any additional information that might be desired.
